Lollipop

Lollipop 8x01 oil on board
Lollipop has been rescued by "Bullies in need" a group protecting Bull dogs, see their page here:
Bullies in need
and Lollipop's story is here:
Lollipop
she has been with the group only 9 months and she is only 1 year old! She has befriended the other dogs in the pack and her story is very heartwarming.

I enjoyed painting her, her personality just shines through her eyes I felt I knew her after a few brush stokes.
The painting can be purchased here and 15% will be donated to Animal rescue.

Doggy Tails

"Looking for a good home" 8x8 oil on board

I couldn't resist this little one to paint, being held after rescue by the Ottawa Humane Society, there were 22 puppies last week found in a puppy mill. His eyes seem to tell the whole story. Hoping after their ordeal they will find a good home when they are ready and in good health.

Coral (Princess) 8x10 oil on board
Coral was a dog found in Orangeville SPCA sometime ago. She became very attached
to her new owner a boy of 10 years old at the time. She was very loving but, did have
a glitch in her personality, finding it great fun to jump the substantial gate and escape
hiding when she was called to come home. It seems she gave them plenty of excercise
bringing her home after one of her adventures! Her nickname became Princess as there
is a look of Royalty about her.

Monty 8x8 oil on board
Monty is owned by Amy a young lady who lives locally, Monty is a rescue dog and is
in a certain amount of training at the moment, this picture shows him hiding in a duvet after being a little naughty.

Paintings of the last 3 days!

Charlie a Shih Tzu 8x8 oil on Board SOLD
Charlie the Shih TzuHis Owner says:  He is actually a Shih Tzu and while not a rescue dog, he is pretty special in his own right.  Charlie is a Paws for Literacy dog.
My friend Jim founded the program and here's a link:
http://www.spiritridge.net/
Not only is the program great for kids but it brings exposure to Jim's rescue and puts him in touch with many people who are on the verge of giving up on their dogs due to behaviour issues.  Jim is an extrordinary trainer/behaviourist and has saved a ton of dogs from the pound.  He is also at my beck and call when I take in an especially difficult dog. Erika

Frank
I spotted this lovely dog on the way to our local Grackle Coffee shop, he looked
so proud of himself and managed to get a shot of him while he was waiting for
Liz his owner getting her her morning coffee.

"Professor"

8x10 Oil on Board
Professor.
A photo from a friend who helps rescued cats/dogs had a photo of The Professor he had very sad eyes.
He is a big chap and didn't have a home being fostered out many times  which included Erika 's generous heart, and decided to foster him too, luckily after 3 weeks a couple decided to adopt him. I decided then to find a way to help too.
I painted him and here he is.
Hope his new owner doesn't  mind.

The Late Mr. Dudley

For quite a while now I have been thinking about using the art I paint to help toward Animal Rescue. We had a good friend called Dudley our faithful companion we adopted him from a local shelter: Ann & Pete's in Pottageville, Ontario

It proved to be one of the best things we have done for our life.

Dudley a very energetic curly tailed A-type dog decided we needed to keep fit. Many, many walks ensued over 9 years, unfortunately we found he had managed to drink some contaminated water which destroyed his kidneys and we couldn't save him, this happened over a year ago.
So in his memory I thought painting a dog who needs to be rescued would give me satisfaction and selling paintings would be my way of paying back the time we had with Dudley.
